Ukraine-Russia war: Military expert analyzes frontline dynamics

Military expert Irakli Aladashvili provides an analysis of the current state of the Russia-Ukraine war, noting the emergence of a largely frozen frontline spanning approximately 1,200 kilometers. While large-scale battles characteristic of the early years of the conflict have subsided, Russia maintains a positional advantage and continues efforts to capture the Sloviansk-Kramatorsk agglomeration.

Aladashvili notes that while Ukraine has reported liberating specific areas, such as 26 villages and 745 square kilometers near Alexandrovsk, these tactical successes improve unit positions and hinder enemy movement rather than signaling a major operational-strategic breakthrough.

Furthermore, Ukraine has utilized long-range strikes and domestically produced weaponry, including the 'Palianytsia' jet drone and 'Neptune' missiles, to target Russian infrastructure such as the Novorossiysk naval base and oil refineries located dozens of kilometers from the frontline.
