Ukraine strikes Russian bomber in Crimea and advances near Lyman
Ukrainian forces have conducted significant operations targeting Russian military assets and territory. In occupied Crimea, Ukrainian intelligence units carried out a night operation on September 7, successfully striking a Russian Su-24 front-line bomber. The Su-24 is a Soviet-era aircraft frequently used by Russian forces to deploy guided aerial bombs and missiles against Ukrainian positions and civilian areas.
Simultaneously, Ukrainian forces have reportedly reclaimed approximately 200 square kilometers of territory north of Lyman. This ongoing operation has pushed Russian forces back toward the Zherebets River. The strategic objective of clearing this area is to prevent Russian forces from encircling the cities of Sloviansk and Kramatorsk.
