Ukraine strikes Borisoglebsk airfield, destroying Russian Su-34M aircraft

The Ukrainian Navy conducted a missile strike on the Borisoglebsk military airfield in Russia's Voronezh region using R-360 Neptune cruise missiles. Satellite imagery confirmed the destruction of at least four Su-34M attack aircraft and damage to several others, alongside ground support equipment. This strike follows a period of intense Russian drone activity, including a massive deployment of 580 drones and two missiles against Ukrainian targets that resulted in casualties and infrastructure damage in regions like Kirovohrad and Dnipropetrowsk.

Simultaneously, Moscow's aviation infrastructure faced significant disruption. Ukrainian drones forced the closure of all four major Moscow airports—Vnukovo, Domodedovo, Zhukovsky, and Sheremetyevo—for up to seven hours, causing hundreds of flight delays and cancellations. Russian air defenses reportedly intercepted 94 drones targeting the capital.

Geopolitical tensions have escalated as US President Donald Trump criticized Ukrainian strikes on Russian oil refineries, labeling them a 'shame' that impacts global energy prices. Reports indicate growing friction between Washington and Kyiv, with allegations that the US may use intelligence data and Starlink satellite internet access as diplomatic leverage to pressure Ukraine toward a peace agreement with Russia.
