Russia and Ukraine exchange heavy drone and missile strikes

Russia and Ukraine have engaged in a significant escalation of cross-border drone and missile attacks, resulting in dozens of casualties and extensive damage to civilian and industrial infrastructure. In Ukraine, Russian strikes targeted a shopping center in Kryvyi Rih, causing at least 16 deaths and over 130 injuries. Additional strikes hit railway infrastructure in Kyiv and residential areas in Zaporizhzhia and Lviv.

On the Russian side, Ukrainian drone strikes hit logistics centers belonging to e-commerce companies like Ozon and Wildberries. A particularly tragic strike in the Krasnodar region killed two children when drone debris fell on a private children's center.

In response to the intensifying conflict, French President Emmanuel Macron has pledged to supply Ukraine with additional interceptor missiles to bolster its air defenses. Meanwhile, the Russian Ministry of Defense claimed to have downed 1,120 Ukrainian drones in a single 24-hour period. The conflict continues to see a shift toward targeting deep-seated logistics and energy assets on both sides.
