Ukraine to transfer captured Russian T-72 tanks to European museums

The Ukrainian government has approved a framework to transfer captured Russian military equipment to foreign museums for public display. This initiative, proposed by Ukraine’s Ministries of Defense and Culture, aims to provide international audiences with direct evidence of Russian aggression.

Selected exhibits, specifically captured Russian T-72 tanks, will be transferred free of charge to museums in Lithuania, Latvia, Estonia, Denmark, and the Netherlands. To ensure safety for public viewing, the vehicles will be rendered non-operational and cleared of all explosive components.

The project is intended to serve as a tool for cultural diplomacy, strengthening cooperation with international museum institutions and helping to sustain global awareness and support for Ukraine’s territorial integrity.
