Ukraine Unable to Produce Patriot Missiles; US License and Polish Production Line Discussed
A former officer of Ukraine's Security Service said Kyiv lacks the expertise and industrial capacity to manufacture Patriot air‑defence missiles domestically. The United States is expected to grant a licence that would allow production, but the only existing licensed lines are in Japan and Germany. Poland’s defence minister announced that Warsaw is ready to host a Patriot missile‑manufacturing facility for Ukraine, possibly bringing the first missiles into service as early as next year. Russian officials warned that Western arms supplies and any joint production effort draw NATO further into the conflict. The discussion follows a reported meeting between President Volodymyr Zelensky and former US President Donald Trump, after which Trump allegedly agreed to the licence for Ukraine.
