Ukraine unmanned vessel attack hits Russia's Sochi coastline

An attack by a Ukrainian unmanned vessel on the Sochi coastline has resulted in eight injuries and caused fires in the Primorskaya embankment area. The Kuban Emergency Response Center reported that the strike partially damaged beach-connected infrastructure.

Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelenskyy stated that the operation, conducted by various security and naval services, targeted a naval base in Russia's southern Krasnodar region. According to Zelenskyy, the strike hit oil loading terminals, military port facilities, and warships carrying Kalibr missiles in Novorossiysk. He characterized the action as a response to Russian attacks on Ukraine.

In retaliation, the Russian Ministry of Defense reported strikes on several Ukrainian military and logistics targets. These included military-industrial facilities, sea ports, and logistics centers in Kyiv, Mykolaiv, and Odesa. Specific targets mentioned by Russia included a drone factory in Kyiv, a cargo ship in Odesa, and fuel storage tanks and electrical substations in the Mykolaiv region.
