Ukraine war at turning point as Russian missile strike hits Kyiv

Ukraine's war with Russia is described as reaching a turning point. Russian advances have slowed, casualties are rising and Ukrainian drones are striking deeper into Russian territory. The conflict's impact is also being felt in Russia, where fuel shortages have begun to affect daily life.

In Kyiv, a Russian missile packed with shrapnel struck the Darnytskyi district, tearing through residential buildings and vehicles. Although the weapon caused extensive damage and scattered hundreds of projectiles, no fatalities were reported because the area was largely empty at the time. Earlier strikes in the capital had killed about 50 people and injured hundreds, underscoring the intensifying violence in the city.
