Ukraine war sees journalist expulsion in France and US hesitates on Patriot missiles
Former RT France director and pro‑Russian commentator Xenia Fedorova was ordered expelled from France and placed under daily police reporting, a move her employers Canal+ and Lagardère say threatens press freedom. Fedorova, who writes for JDNews and appears on CNews and Europe 1, plans to appeal the decision. Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelenskyy, speaking in Washington, reiterated that the initiative to end the conflict is no longer in Russian President Vladimir Putin’s hands and called for stronger sanctions.
In the United States, President Donald Trump expressed uncertainty about approving the production of Patriot air‑defence missiles for Ukraine. Meanwhile, Ukrainian forces struck a Wildberries logistics centre in Volgograd, Russia, causing a fire but no reported casualties, with the company rerouting deliveries to other sites.
