Ukraine's 3rd Army Corps advances in Donetsk via Operation Vivaldi

Operation Vivaldi Donetsk offensive 3rd Army Corps Lyman Rubicon drone unit

The Ukrainian 3rd Army Corps has reported significant territorial gains in northern Donetsk during the ongoing Operation Vivaldi. In the second phase of the offensive near Lyman, Ukrainian forces reclaimed 40 square kilometers of land, including the villages of Shandryholove and Derylove, while placing Drobysheve under full control.

Across both the first and second phases of the operation, Ukrainian military officials state that approximately 125 square kilometers have been cleared of Russian forces. The offensive has reportedly disrupted Russian logistics, command posts, and communication nodes. Brigadier General Andrii Biletskyi noted that the 3rd Army Corps has utilized advanced technology, including ground robotic complexes and kamikaze drones, to support infantry during assaults.

Additionally, the Ukrainian military reports that Russia has withdrawn its elite Rubicon drone unit from the northern Donetsk front line following heavy losses in personnel and equipment. The operation has reportedly broken the northern pincer of a Russian attempt to encircle Ukrainian positions in the region.
