Ukraine's Ambassador visits Chaco to boost agro-industrial and academic ties

Chaco Ukraine Yurii Klymenko agro-industry academic cooperation

Ukrainian Ambassador Yurii Klymenko conducted an official visit to the Chaco province in Argentina to strengthen bilateral ties in productive, commercial, and academic sectors.

During meetings with Governor Leandro Zdero and Production Minister Oscar Dudik, the agenda focused on agro-industrial cooperation, specifically in agricultural development, the cotton industry, and applied technologies. Officials aim to renew interregional cooperation agreements dating back to 2000 and 2004. The visit also highlights the province's significant Ukrainian heritage, with over 60,000 descendants residing in Chaco.

In the academic sphere, Ambassador Klymenko met with officials from the Universidad Nacional del Nordeste (UNNE). Discussions centered on establishing a framework agreement for cooperation, student and faculty exchange programs, and joint research. Additionally, the Ambassador introduced the ‘Global Coalition of Ukrainian Studies,’ an initiative led by First Lady Olena Zelenska to promote Ukrainian history and culture globally.
