Ukrainian Ambassador meets Friuli Venezia Giulia Governor in Trieste

Ukrainian Ambassador to Italy, Ihor Brusylo, met with the President of the Friuli Venezia Giulia region, Massimiliano Fedriga, in Trieste to discuss security and humanitarian aid.

Governor Fedriga reaffirmed the region's support for Ukraine, announcing the dispatch of generators via regional civil protection to ensure electricity supply during the upcoming cold season. The discussions also touched upon the need for modular shelters for emergency housing and the strategic role of the region as a bridge for future reconstruction, specifically regarding the IMEC corridor and cooperation with the port of Odessa.

During the visit, Ambassador Brusylo warned that Russia aims to divide Europe from within by exploiting internal divisions. He noted that as elections approach in countries such as Italy, Poland, Spain, and France, the risk of hybrid threats and subversive activities increases. Brusylo emphasized that strengthening European defense capabilities is an investment in protecting the continent's standard of living rather than a waste of resources.
