Ukrainian Ambassador Wasyl Bodnar Returns to Kyiv for Deputy Foreign Minister Post

Ukrainian ambassador to Poland Wasyl Bodnar has ended his posting in Warsaw and is heading back to Kyiv to assume the role of deputy foreign minister, President Volodymyr Zelensky announced at a meeting of Ukrainian diplomatic heads.

The president also indicated that the next ambassador to Poland will be chosen from among Iryna Wereszczuk, deputy head of the presidential office, and Oleksandr Miszczenko, current vice‑minister of foreign affairs. In parallel, Wasyl Zwarycz, Ukraine’s ambassador to the Czech Republic, is also concluding his mission and is expected to become a deputy foreign minister.

These appointments are part of a broader reshuffle of Ukraine’s diplomatic corps as the country prepares for the upcoming political season and seeks to strengthen its international representation.
