Ukrainian association questions Portuguese MP's praise of Russia

The Association of Ukrainians in Portugal has formally questioned the Socialist Party (PS) regarding the social media activity of Member of Parliament José Carlos Barbosa. In a letter to the party's Secretary-General, the association expressed distress over Barbosa's posts praising his stay in Russia, noting that these comments coincided with a Russian attack on a railway station near Kyiv that killed eight people.

The association's president, Pavlo Sadokha, emphasized that while the Portuguese government has consistently condemned Russian aggression and expressed solidarity with Ukraine, the deputy's actions appeared to praise the current Russian administration without acknowledging the civilian casualties in Ukraine.
