Ukrainian citizen barred from Schengen after detention at Poland's Korczowa border

Border Guard officers at the Korczowa crossing in southeastern Poland stopped a Ukrainian citizen who was driving a bus toward the country. Records showed he was subject to a court‑ordered driving prohibition and a five‑year ban on entry to the Schengen area.

He was detained, handed over to the police and, on grounds of public safety, ordered to leave Poland. The man was subsequently returned to Ukraine. Since the start of 2026, the Bieszczady Border Guard unit has refused entry to more than 5,100 foreign nationals, primarily for unmet entry conditions, existing bans, or security concerns.
