Ukrainian guard Max Shulga set to join Real Madrid basketball

Ukrainian swingman Max Shulga, 24, is poised to sign with Real Madrid for the 2026‑27 season. The former Boston Celtics draft pick spent the 2023‑24 campaign with the Celtics’ G‑League affiliate, appearing in 11 games, before completing his development in Spain.

Shulga began his basketball education at the Colegio Leonés in León after moving to Spain at age 11 with his father, former international referee Boris Shulga. He later continued his training in Torrelodones and played college basketball in the United States before turning professional. His move to Real Madrid will bring him back to the Spanish ACB and the EuroLeague, where he will join a roster that already includes new signings such as Luwawu‑Cabarrot and Jaime Pradilla.
