Ukrainian influencer Andriy Gavryliv barred from Poland and Schengen after illegal drive to Morskie Oko

Influencer Andriy Gavryliv drove a Chevrolet Corvette over more than 8 km of a road in the Tatra National Park that is closed to private vehicles, reaching the area around the protected lake Morskie Oko. He posted photos of the trip on Instagram, prompting a wave of criticism online.

Police stopped him at the park exit, issued a 100‑złoty fine and eight penalty points, although the statutory range allows up to 5 000 zł. The driver claimed he turned back before a barrier, a statement accepted by officers when the fine was imposed. The Tatra Park director, Szymon Ziobrowski, called the act a clear violation of nature‑protection rules and said an additional fine of up to 1 000 zł could be applied.

Following the incident, the Ministry of the Interior filed a request to place Gavryliv on the list of unwanted persons, imposing a five‑year entry ban to Poland and all Schengen states. Prime Minister Donald Tusk wrote on X that the "raid … sparked understandable outrage" and demanded swift consequences. Interior Minister Marcin Kierwiński said the offender "will be held accountable". Gavryliv has since left Poland and returned to Ukraine while the case remains under investigation.
