Ukrainian metal band IGNEA releases “Darkness” single ahead of Monumental album

Ukrainian modern‑metal group IGNEA has issued a new video for the single “Darkness”, the second track from their forthcoming album Monumental. The video was filmed in Kyiv, including scenes at the National University of Construction and Architecture, and highlights the band’s nostalgic theme that reflects on modernist architecture and unrealised futures.

Monumental is scheduled for release on 23 October 2026 through Napier Records. The album’s concept centres on nostalgia, drawing parallels between 17th‑century notions of the feeling and today’s yearning for lost futures. The tracklist features “Darkness”, “Dreams of Lands Unseen” (the first single released in June), “Presence of the Past”, “Prefab” (featuring Combichrist), “What Buildings Dream of”, “I am in Hell”, “Between No Longer and Not Yet”, “Harmony Manufactured” (featuring Hiraes) and “Nadir”. Lead vocalist Helle Bohdanova explained that the songs explore how memories can both comfort and reveal cracks in the present.
