Ukrainian MiG-29 crashes in Odessa region

A Ukrainian MiG-29 fighter jet crashed in the Odessa region on Monday. According to the Ukrainian Air Force, the aircraft was on a combat mission targeting Russian positions when a technical malfunction occurred during a missile launch. The incident caused a fire, leading the pilot to lose control of the aircraft. The pilot successfully used the ejection seat to escape and has been transported to a hospital for medical treatment.

In related developments, Ukrainian drone strikes have targeted Russian infrastructure. An attack on an industrial facility in the Tyumen region of Siberia caused a fire, and the Taneko oil refinery in Tatarstan was also struck. Russian authorities have launched a criminal investigation into the strikes on Nizhnekamsk, which they characterized as a “terrorist attack,” reporting casualties including a child.
