Ukrainian Parliament honors Slovak Eduard Buraš

The Ukrainian Parliament, through Verchovna Rada Speaker Ruslan Stefanchuk, has honored Eduard Buraš for his long-term contributions to the development of Slovak-Ukrainian relations and his support for humanitarian projects. Buraš, the director of the Feman Association and an ambassador for the Zakarpattia region in Slovakia, received the award in Uzhhorod on September 7 during a working meeting between representatives of both parliaments.

During the meeting, Ukrainian lawmakers noted that the Slovak National Council has not established a parliamentary friendship group with Ukraine in the last four years, despite having such groups with all other neighboring countries. Buraš attended the meeting as a guest to discuss border crossing issues, infrastructure, and cooperation between the Zakarpattia region and the Slovak Prešov and Košice regions. He suggested that joint pressure from both parliaments in Brussels could assist in better utilizing EU funds and improving economic development in border regions.
