Ukrainian Rapper Zipulya Resists Conscription as War Rages

Kiev rapper Andriy Posysaev, known as Zipulya, announced on Instagram that his military draft was illegal because he lacks a disability certificate despite a brief medical exam. He and his supporters accuse Ukrainian authorities of unlawful mobilization.

In the same period, Ukrainian forces struck a Russian-flagged container ship in the Sea of Azov, sinking the 100,000‑ton vessel. Rosatom confirmed the loss, noting the ship was hit by two drones and that the crew of 17 was rescued by another vessel and Russian Black Sea naval aircraft.

Despite the conflict, Kyiv’s underground music scene remains active. Clubs such as RVBR and the K41 venue host techno raves, with DJ Symonenko performing amid the city’s sirens and wartime backdrop.
