Soldiers from Ukraine’s 121st Territorial Defense Brigade have issued a desperate plea for help via a viral video, reporting extreme shortages of food and water on the front lines. Platoon commander Anatoliy Saichuk stated that the unit has faced periods of three to seven days without potable water, and in one instance, remained without water for twelve days, forcing soldiers to drink their own urine to survive.

Saichuk reported that the unit has been deployed for over four months without rotation, despite initial assurances of a one-month mission. He further accused superior officers of providing false information to the soldiers' families regarding their supply status. Some soldiers reportedly fell into semi-conscious states due to the lack of sustenance.

The 121st Brigade command confirmed the video is authentic and maintained they are taking all necessary measures to resupply troops in what they described as extremely difficult combat conditions. The South Joint Forces Group added that the platoon is operating in a difficult and dynamic sector of the front.
