ukyo X launches hybrid café, bar and co‑working hub in Cluj‑Napoca
ukyo X opened its third location in the pedestrian centre of Cluj‑Napoca, Romania, converting a historic storefront into a flexible cultural hub. Designed by the in‑still studio, the venue combines a café, a listening bar, a music and art space and a secluded co‑working area. Large sliding glass doors open the interior fully onto the street, while a modular furniture system and a continuous communal table allow the layout to adapt to different group sizes and activities.
The interior retains the building’s original mosaic floor and adds a palette of wood veneer and stainless steel, creating a blend of historic materiality and contemporary design. The space is organised into four interconnected zones – coffee bar, lounge, music/art area and co‑working zone – with changes in lighting, sound and atmosphere supporting transitions from daytime café use to quieter work or cultural events.
