Ulcinj strengthens tourism through gastronomic events

Ulcinj is utilizing gastronomy to strengthen its tourism offerings and create authentic experiences for visitors. The ninth annual ‘Day of Okra’ event recently took place in the Old Town, celebrating local traditions and culinary customs.

Ćazim Hodžić, Director of the Tourism Organization Ulcinj, noted that the event serves as a recognizable part of the local cultural calendar, focusing on tradition and hospitality. Local officials also announced upcoming promotions for local production, including the ‘Autumn Basket’ event, which will highlight citrus fruits and olives.

Other scheduled culinary and seasonal events in the region include ‘All for Tourism’, ‘Fishermen’s Feast’, ‘Squid Festival’, and ‘Ulcinj Watermelon’. These initiatives aim to connect local products and traditions with modern tourism promotion to attract increasing numbers of visitors.
