Uli Latukefu cast as Ganondorf in live-action Legend of Zelda film

Nintendo and Sony Pictures are developing a live‑action adaptation of the Legend of Zelda franchise, slated for theatrical release in 2027 (most reports give 30 April 2027, one source cites 7 May 2027). The film is directed by Wes Ball and was shot in New Zealand.

Casting announcements confirm Australian actor Uli Latukefu as the villain Ganondorf, with a multi‑picture deal for future sequels. The late Sam Neill will appear posthumously in an undisclosed role, marking one of his final screen performances. Dichen Lachman has been confirmed as Impa, while Yvonne Strahovski will play a queen whose identity has not been revealed. The leads are Benjamin Evan Ainsworth as Link and Bo Bragason as Princess Zelda.
