Ulises Lara accused of using prosecutorial influence in family property dispute

Hilda Lara Guadián has accused her half-brother, Ulises Lara López—a former Special Prosecutor for Relevant Matters at the Attorney General's Office (FGR)—of using his influence within the Mexico City Prosecutor's Office (FGJCDMX) to advance a criminal case against her.

The dispute stems from a family conflict over a property in the Acueducto de Guadalupe neighborhood of the Gustavo A. Madero borough. In 2013, Hilda Lara and her husband, Godefroid Pakabomba Muabi, purchased the home from their parents for 2.1 million pesos, utilizing an Infonavit credit.

The legal conflict escalated in 2021 when Carlos Lara, the father of both Hilda and Ulises, challenged the sale, claiming he discovered the property was no longer in his name while preparing his will. While Hilda and her husband were previously linked to a criminal process for aggravated dispossession, federal courts later determined that the alleged offenses had already prescribed.
