Uljin County Governor Hwang Yi-ju emphasizes field-centered administration

Uljin County Governor Hwang Yi-ju marked his first 100 days in office by emphasizing a shift toward practical administration and field-oriented leadership. Under the slogan ‘Change and Innovation! Leaping Uljin,’ Hwang has prioritized addressing local issues through direct engagement, utilizing a ‘Visiting Field Governor’s Office’ to listen to residents and inspect major projects firsthand.

Hwang has also focused on external cooperation, acting as the county’s primary representative to secure national funding and discuss infrastructure projects, such as highway expansions, with central government ministries and lawmakers. Internally, he has called for rigorous inspections of major projects, including forest fire recovery efforts and nuclear power plant safety protocols, to ensure they provide tangible benefits to the local community rather than merely meeting formal requirements.
