Uljin to host hands-on marine safety exhibition
The Ministry of Oceans and Fisheries, in collaboration with the National Uljin Marine Science Museum and the Korea Maritime Transportation Safety Authority, is hosting a hands-on marine safety exhibition titled ‘The Power to Protect the Sea, Marine Safety’. The event will run from October 1 to November 1 at the National Uljin Marine Science Museum.
Designed to move beyond passive observation, the exhibition allows participants to engage in practical training, including wearing life jackets, using automated external defibrillators (AEDs), and experiencing life rafts. It also provides education on responding to emergency situations such as rip currents, jellyfish stings, and being stranded in tidal flats.
In addition to safety drills, the event showcases advanced maritime technologies, including smart aids to navigation, the Integrated Marine Safety Information System, and autonomous vessels. The exhibition also features award-winning maritime safety content, such as AI-generated short-form videos and designs, as part of a nationwide relay program that has previously visited Incheon, Busan, Jindo, and Ansan.
