Ulm prepares for 2030 State Garden Show urban development

The city of Ulm is preparing to host the Landesgartenschau (State Garden Show) from April to October 2030. This event marks the 50th anniversary of the city's previous garden show held in 1980.

As a central urban development project, the initiative aims to increase green spaces, introduce new water features, and improve noise protection. A key component is the creation of a four-kilometer green corridor stretching from Wilhelmsburg through Blaubeurer Tor and Ehinger Tor to the Danube. The project also seeks to reduce traffic dominance on the B10 road.

Planned improvements include a new observation platform at the Kienlesbergbastion and the transformation of the Wilhelmsburg courtyard into an event space for concerts and other activities. The city council has allocated a budget of approximately 49 million euros for the project, which focuses on climate adaptation, sustainability, and social cohesion.
