Ulrika Fåhraeus proposes veterinary care reforms in Sweden

Journalist and commentator Ulrika Fåhraeus is meeting with a state secretary at Rosenbad to present reform proposals for veterinary care in Sweden. The initiative follows concerns regarding the rising costs of veterinary services, which Fåhraeus warns may force animal owners to face significant debt or be compelled to euthanize their animals.

Fåhraeus also highlighted a decline in the Swedish horse industry, noting that riding schools are closing, breeding activities are dropping, and many stables are seeing decreased occupancy. The proposed reforms aim to address these economic and bureaucratic challenges to strengthen the conditions for horse owners and businesses.
