Ulsan announces traffic safety projects and SME support initiatives

Ulsan Metropolitan City has announced two major initiatives aimed at improving local infrastructure and economic stability.

First, the city is launching a traffic accident prevention project for 2026, investing 1 billion won to improve seven high-risk locations. These sites, selected through analysis by the Korea Road Traffic Authority, include Boksan Yukgeori and Dongcheon Bridge. Improvements will involve lane readjustments, the installation of new pedestrian crossings, and the addition of fences to prevent jaywalking. The project is scheduled to run from this month through December.

Second, the city is recruiting promising small and medium-sized enterprises (SMEs) for its 2026 Job Creation Strong Company support program. Eligible companies must have been operating in Ulsan for at least two years with 10 or more regular employees. Ten selected companies will receive 20 million won each for improving working environments, along with additional benefits such as preferential interest rates on management stability funds, expanded insurance limits, and tax audit deferrals.
