Ulsan City subsidizes crop insurance for farmers amid heatwave

Ulsan City announced that, through December, it will cover 90‑95% of the premium for crop disaster insurance and agricultural income insurance for registered farming households and agricultural corporations. The measures target crops such as apples, pears, rice, cabbage, potatoes, garlic, onions, peaches and barley, which are vulnerable to prolonged heat, drought, typhoons, hail and other natural hazards. The subsidies aim to reduce income loss from reduced yields and falling market prices. Farmers who wish to enrol can apply at their local agricultural cooperatives.

The city’s initiative is part of a broader effort to protect agricultural producers from climate‑related risks and to stabilise farm management during extreme weather conditions.
