Ulsan Fire Department to invest 6.72 billion won in advanced equipment
The Ulsan Fire Department has announced a plan to allocate 6.72 billion won in its 2027 budget to upgrade firefighting vehicles and introduce advanced technology. This budget represents a 35.76% increase from the previous year's budget of 4.95 billion won.
A significant portion of the funding, totaling 3.15 billion won, will be used to acquire a specialized forest fire suppression vehicle capable of off-road driving and a fire suppression unmanned robot valued at 2.4 billion won. These tools are intended to handle high-risk scenarios, such as fires in national industrial complexes or electric vehicle fires, where human access is dangerous due to heat, explosions, or structural collapse.
Additionally, 3.57 billion won will be dedicated to replacing 14 aging vehicles, including three pump trucks, two rescue buses, two fire investigation vehicles, and seven ambulances. The department aims to utilize national funds and fire safety grants to mitigate the burden on local finances while enhancing the safety of both citizens and firefighters.
