Ulsan to sell naming rights for 129 bus stops
Ulsan Metropolitan City has announced it will recruit bidders for its ‘2026 Bus Stop Name Co-branding Paid Sale Project’ from September 14 to 16. The initiative targets 129 bus stops located in commercial areas with established shelters, including Hakseong-ro, Jungang-ro, Samsan-ro, Hwabong-ro, and Guyeong-ro.
Selected companies will receive the right to display their names alongside the bus stop names on signage, route maps, shelter names, and bus announcements for a period of three years. This program aims to provide businesses with advertising opportunities while generating non-tax revenue for the city. The revenue generated will be reinvested into the maintenance and improvement of bus stop facilities and signage.
First introduced in 2019, this project was the first of its kind in South Korea and has received national recognition, including a Prime Minister's award for excellence in local finance. Since 2021, Ulsan has sold naming rights for 26 bus stops, generating a total of 615 million won in revenue.
