Ultinon Motion Poland bankruptcy threatens 700 jobs in Pabianice

A court has declared Ultinon Motion Poland, the owner of the former Philips lighting factory in Pabianice, insolvent. The plant, which employs roughly 700 workers, now faces an uncertain future as a court‑appointed trustee examines the possibility of selling the business or parts of it to an investor. No collective lay‑off notification has been filed yet, but the risk of job losses is concrete.

The difficulties are linked to problems at the parent company First Brands, which acquired the Lumileds‑owned Pabianice facility in 2024. While the plant had been profitable in recent years, the parent’s financial troubles have precipitated the bankruptcy, raising concerns for the local community, suppliers and regional employment levels.
