Ultra-processed foods and sweetened beverages linked to health risks

Scientific analysis of 281 studies across 36 countries suggests a significant prevalence of addiction to ultra-processed foods, affecting approximately 14% of adults and 12% of children globally.

In the United States, long-term observations of over 100,000 healthcare workers have identified a concerning link between sugar-sweetened beverages and health risks. Specifically, individuals consuming more than one 240 ml serving of sweetened drinks per day may face an increased risk of stomach cancer.

Concerns have also been raised regarding the rising rates of obesity in American children and adults, with observers noting the physical impacts of modern dietary habits.
