Ultra raises $62M to expand warehouse robotics and AI partnership

Brooklyn-based robotics startup Ultra has raised $62 million, consisting of a $50 million Series A led by Framework Ventures and a $12 million seed round led by Y Combinator and Next View. The company utilizes a “robots as a service” model, leasing dual-arm stationary robots known as Operator (OP1) to warehouse operators for tasks such as packing, sorting, and kitting.

Ultra has expanded its partnership with Physical Intelligence, a San Francisco-based AI company. Physical Intelligence provides the π0.6 vision-language-action model, which serves as the software “brain” for the hardware. Reports indicate the model achieved 96.4% autonomy during eight-hour shifts in real-world warehouse settings.

Ultra’s systems are designed for rapid deployment, capable of being installed within hours. The company currently has deployments in New York, Georgia, New Jersey, and Texas, including a site at Highline Commerce in Brooklyn where the robots handle approximately 30% of fulfillment volume. Unlike companies focusing on humanoid robots, Ultra targets fixed industrial systems for repetitive fulfillment work.
