Ultra-Trail du Mont-Blanc features notable athlete finishes
The 2026 Ultra-Trail du Mont-Blanc (UTMB) event featured notable performances from several endurance athletes. Jorge Rodríguez Bautista completed the 60-kilometer OCC race, which connects Switzerland to Chamonix. Despite facing temperatures of 31 degrees Celsius and a broken soft flask at the first aid station, he finished in 8 hours, 39 minutes, and 19 seconds, placing 270th overall and 7th in his age category.
Italian runner Daniele Faccia successfully completed the flagship UTMB race, a 174-kilometer course circumnavigating the Mont Blanc massif through France, Italy, and Switzerland. Faccia, who previously completed the 330-kilometer Tor des Géants in 2025, finished the race after more than 40 hours of continuous running.
