Ultra Trail Forillon attracts hundreds of runners to Quebec

The Ultra Trail Forillon, held in Quebec's Forillon National Park, drew over 600 runners from Canada, the United States, Europe, and Australia for a series of multi-day trail running competitions. Organized by Événements Gaspesia in partnership with Parks Canada, the event featured distances ranging from 1 to 160 kilometers across technical mountain and coastal terrain.

In the 45 km race, David Sylvestre of Carleton-sur-Mer secured first place with a time of 4:31:10, followed by Edouard Mailhot and Jean-Philippe Tardif. Marie-Eve Pelland was the top female finisher in the 45 km category, placing fourth overall. In the 15 km race, Anthony Audet claimed victory.

In the premier 100-mile ultra-marathon, Suzie Lemay-Boucher of Quebec won the women's division with a time of 31 hours, 47 minutes, and 55 seconds. Despite the scenic autumn backdrop, organizers noted significant operational challenges, including difficulties securing staff and volunteers and managing logistics in freezing temperatures.
