Uludağ Elektrik launches pink bill campaign for breast cancer awareness

In observance of Breast Cancer Awareness Month, Uludağ Elektrik has launched a campaign in Turkey to promote the importance of early diagnosis. As part of its 'Social Bills' project, which began in 2019, the company has designed its October utility bills in pink to deliver health awareness messages to millions of customers.

In Bursa, the Uludağ Oncology Solidarity Association (ONKODAY) is organizing various activities throughout October to educate women about the disease. Prof. Dr. Türkkan Evrensel, Head of the Medical Oncology Department at Bursa Uludağ University, noted that mammography plays a critical role in early detection. He reported that current screening rates for eligible women have reached 50-55%, with a goal of increasing this to 70%.

Medical advancements, including personalized treatments and targeted smart drugs, have improved outcomes even for advanced cases. Dr. Evrensel emphasized that according to Ministry of Health statistics, over 50% of breast cancer diagnoses are now caught in non-metastatic stages.
