Umar Kremlev reportedly funded Donald Trump Jr.’s wedding expenses

Umar Kremlev, the president of the International Boxing Association (IBA) and a figure with close ties to the Russian leadership, reportedly funded significant portions of Donald Trump Jr. and Bettina Trump’s wedding celebrations in the Bahamas in May 2026.

Investigations by ProPublica and The Telegraph indicate that Kremlev covered hundreds of thousands of dollars in expenses, including the rental of a private island costing approximately $100,000 per night and a fireworks display valued at around $70,000. These payments were reportedly made through a Dubai-registered company linked to the IBA. The newlyweds described the expenditure as an “extremely generous wedding gift from a friend.”

While Donald Trump has claimed his son repaid the money, reports suggest Kremlev’s actions may have been intended to secure Trump Jr.’s support to restore the IBA’s rights to organize Olympic boxing tournaments. The IBA lost its official status from the International Olympic Committee in 2023 due to corruption allegations and concerns regarding Russian influence. Kremlev, formerly known as Umar Lutfuloev, has a background in boxing organization and maintains connections to Russian power circles, including the “Night Wolves” motorcycle club.
