UMass and UConn renew historic New England football rivalry

The UMass Minutemen and UConn Huskies are set to face off in their 129th meeting on Friday, October 23, 2026, at Pratt & Whitney Stadium at Rentschler Field. This historic New England rivalry features an all-time series that is remarkably tied at 38-38-2.

UConn enters the matchup with a 3-3 record, having won the last three meetings against UMass, including a 47-42 victory in 2024. The Huskies are currently favored by 14.5 points. UMass, holding a 4-3 record, is looking to break a three-game losing streak against UConn and regain momentum following an overtime loss to Buffalo.

A key factor for UMass is the expected return of quarterback William (Pop) Watson III, who has missed recent games due to an ankle injury. The game will be broadcast on the CBS Sports Network.
