UMass football enters MAC play with undefeated record

The UMass Minutemen football team is entering Mid-American Conference (MAC) play with an undefeated record. The team currently holds a 3-0 start to the season, having secured victories over Rutgers, Sacred Heart, and Stonehill. A notable improvement in their defense has seen the team allow only 270 yards per game, compared to over 430 yards per game last season.

UMass is scheduled to face Sacramento State, a program in its first season competing at the FBS level, in a historic MAC matchup. Following that, the Minutemen are set to host Eastern Michigan on October 3. UMass enters these matchups with a strong turnover margin, ranking 2nd in the FBS with a +10 margin.
