UMass hockey defeats RIT 5-1

The No. 18 UMass men's hockey team defeated Rochester Institute of Technology (RIT) with a 5-1 victory. The Minutemen utilized effective special teams to secure the win, converting two of their four power-play opportunities.

UMass goals were provided by Larry Keenan, Vaclav Nestrasil, and Maxim Masse, with Masse scoring his first career goal. RIT's lone goal was scored by Nick De Angelis in the final seconds of the first period. Despite making 41 saves, RIT goaltender Collin Mackenzie could not overcome the Minutemen's offensive pressure and shot advantage.
