UMass men’s basketball prepares for upcoming season

The University of Massachusetts men’s basketball team is entering the new season with a focus on physicality and interior defense. Following significant roster turnover, head coach Frank Martin’s squad aims to address previous weaknesses in paint defense and block rates.

The Minutemen have bolstered their frontcourt with a rotation including Abdullah Ahmed, Cheick Sylla, and Dimitri Clerc. This increased size is intended to improve rebounding and rim protection, building on the team’s historical emphasis on controlling the boards.
