UMB Holding and General Turbo seek to purchase RAAN assets

UMB Holding SRL, a company controlled by the family of entrepreneur Dorinel Umbrărescu, has submitted a purchase offer for assets belonging to the Regia Autonomă pentru Activități Nucleare (RAAN). RAAN is a state-owned company that has been in bankruptcy for over a decade.

General Turbo SA, a Romanian manufacturer of energy equipment, has also expressed interest in acquiring the assets. General Turbo is currently a creditor of RAAN, with claims exceeding 15 million lei. The Administration of the Environmental Fund (AFM), RAAN’s largest creditor, confirmed that discussions are ongoing with both parties to formulate formal proposals in accordance with legal requirements. The specific assets targeted and the value of the offers have not yet been disclosed.
