UMBAL Sofiamed opens new specialized Venous Center

UMBAL Sofiamed has opened a new highly specialized Venous Center to provide comprehensive diagnosis, treatment, and long-term monitoring for patients with a full spectrum of venous diseases. The center aims to address conditions ranging from cosmetic vein issues to serious complications like permanent skin changes, painful inflammation, and dangerous thrombosis.

The medical team consists of highly qualified vascular surgeons who utilize advanced diagnostic tools, including standard venous echodoppler examinations to map the venous system and computer phlebography for detailed assessment of the deep venous system in the pelvis, abdomen, and proximal limbs.

Dr. Dimitar Nikolov, head of the center, stated that the facility offers cutting-edge, minimally invasive methods such as radiofrequency ablation and laser treatment.
