Umberto Medini, traveling entertainment veteran, dies at 90

Umberto Medini, a prominent figure in the traveling entertainment industry, passed away on September 4 at the age of 90. Medini was a long-standing presence in the Marche region, particularly in Ancona and the Macerata area.

For over 50 years, he was a fixture at the traditional Luna Park in Villa Potenza during the San Giuliano patron saint festival. He was well known for his ‘King Kong’ bumper cars, an attraction operated alongside his children, Stefano, Luana, and Gemma. His family noted his dedication to collaborating with local administrations to maintain the Luna Park as one of the most important in the Marche region.

Medini passed away at a hospital in Macerata. His funeral is scheduled for Monday, September 7, at 2:30 p.m. at the Salesiani church in Ancona.
