Umbria and Tuscany approve hunting reciprocity agreement
The regional governments of Umbria and Tuscany have approved a reciprocity agreement for the 2026/2027 hunting season. Proposed by regional assessor Simona Meloni, the pact aims to balance hunting pressure and ensure continuity in cooperation between the two regions.
Under the agreement, each region will grant priority access to a maximum of 700 registration applications for Territorial Hunting Areas (Atc) submitted by hunters from the neighboring region. These registrations allow for the hunting of all species permitted by the host region's hunting calendar.
Specific provisions have been made for migratory game hunting from blinds. Tuscany will guarantee at least 1,000 daily spots for Umbrian hunters via a reservation system. In Umbria, 3,989 spots are available in regional Atcs, which are shared with hunters from other regions under similar reciprocity agreements. To ensure oversight, both regions and the Atcs will share access to electronic archives for real-time booking verification.
