Umbria regional assembly approves budget variations for agriculture and housing
The Umbria regional legislative assembly has approved a budget variation for the 2026–2028 period. The measure passed with 12 votes in favor and 7 abstentions.
Key allocations include 4.5 million euros to support agricultural businesses facing rising diesel costs, potentially benefiting over 5,700 companies. Additionally, 2.5 million euros have been assigned to the regional agency for residential housing to support young couples, single-parent families, and individuals in purchasing their first homes. This includes non-repayable grants of up to 30,000 euros, with extra points for those choosing homes in historic centers or villages.
Other funding includes 650,000 euros for the development of the San Francesco d’Assisi international airport via Sviluppumbria, and 550,000 euros to upgrade the “Turismatica” digital platform. The digital upgrade aims to simplify administrative tasks for over 8,800 tourism operators by improving data interoperability with national databases and local municipal systems.
